Jeweliyana Reese
Jeweliyana grew up in Calgary (as Patti Milner)
At School she took every art class she could and also participated in an individualized Special Ed.art program. When she was old enough to register and pay without parental consent, she snuck off to night school and took more art classes. After graduation, needing to earn her way, she entered the corporate world working as a geological technician and later in promotional advertizing. All the while she continued exploring various mediums.
In 1994 she was introduced to the magical world of glass fusion. By 2010 she had opened InFused Glass Works thinking that would be her forever home in the world of art. In 2015, after taking her glass paintings as far as she could (there are limited number of colors to work with and only so small you can snip glass) she started to paint again.
She's received Awards from Parks Canada (Magic in the Mountains Exhibition, 2011) and been featured in "Art Takes Times Square" NYC, USA 2012. Her work can be found in numerous art collections throughout North America and far away places like Turkey and the UK.
An Installation, ‘View from a Secret Bridge’, a mosaic incorporating fused glass can be seen in the Artisan Legacy Gardens at the historical Bow Valley Ranche in Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary AB. She has created numerous windows and custom backsplash installations for private collectors as well.
Her Paintings have been juried into various, in public and online, art shows and found in private collections.
She currently creates and teaches from her home studio in Calgary.
